Rustee was a lifer resident of SMT, she was brought in with a massive, cancerous tumor on her mammary gland that had grown to the size of a large grapefruit and ruptured. Two blood transfusions, and one giant mass removal later, we got Rustee on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, during a check up 6 months later, our worst fears were confirmed--it was back. Another tumor had appeared, and had tripled size in 2 weeks. In her time here, Rustee won the heart of everyone she met, she was one of the greatest dogs we have had the privilege of rescuing and we were heartbroken to see her go.
